Uncertainty Looms

Jacob Eason or Greyson Lambert. True freshman or fifth-year senior. The guaranteed future clashes with the uncertain present. While Georgia fans have made up their minds about who should start on Saturday, Kirby Smart has not.

Greyson Lambert started week one against UNC. However, Eason was the QB that sparked the Georgia offense and along with Nick Chubb, led them to victory. Last week against Nicholls State, Eason got the start. The whole team struggled and were flat from the start of the game. Eason was not great. He made some good throws but also struggled with inaccuracy and some misreads. However, he did not get much help. The offensive line has been close to awful through two games and did not play well. Along with that, the Bulldogs lack a true number one receiver for Eason to target.

Lambert came in late to replace Jacob Eason. He managed the game and finished 2/3 for 2 yards. Eason’s stat line was average, he went 11/20 for 204 yards along with 1 TD and 1 INT.

Kirby Smart has not named a starter yet for this weekend vs Missouri. Jacob Eason and Greyson Lambert have both gotten 1st team reps this week with Eason getting the most recent.

“He’s [Jacob Eason] in a good place mentally.”

– Kirby Smart

Jacob Eason gives Georgia the best chance to win. Lambert is a game manager and nothing more. Eason can throw the deep ball and is fearless, Lambert is neither. Jacob Eason was not afraid of the moment against UNC in a front of a record breaking crowd at the Georgia Dome. He will not have a problem on the road at Missouri.

Jacob Eason will make mistakes as all freshman do. He will also make the jaw-dropping throws that validate his ranking as the number one QB in the country coming out of high school less than a year ago.

Eason gives Georgia the best chance to win and every snap Greyson Lambert takes prolongs his development.
